Scanning in the 21st Century

Your old high school pentax or your grandfather's rangefinder has a secret. It's actually a modern 24MP digital camera. Shooting 35mm film in the digital era is a two step process, exposing the film in-camera and scanning out-of-camera.

I provide two scan styles:

Finished Product and Editor's Scan

Finished product relies on the scanner and I to make most of the decisions for you: color balancing, contrast, and brightness. It's a scan that's ready to post or print. Choose this option if you do not want to edit your scans.

Editor's scan is for the person who wants more control. Think of the scan as a RAW file, I scan each frame with low contrast and only correct obvious color casts. I leave most choices up to you. This is my preferred scan method.

See the example section for more.

Scans are only one size, HUGE!

6048x4011 pixels (24MP), 12x18 print size at 300 DPI.

Unlike other labs that charge your more the larger the scan, I offer scans at maximum resolution for a low price of $5 per roll.
